Jism 2 Movie Review

Jism 2 attracted a lot of controversy thanks to Sunny Leone and the film has finally landed in theatres. It’s a sequel to Jism(2003). Pooja Bhatt decided to cast Sunny Leone, the Indo Canadian porn star, in her debut role in this movie that itroduces her as Izna a Pornstar as well in the movie. The film stars Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh. The film opens with a Biblical quote: ‘The life of man upon Earth is warfare.’ . Izna (Sunny Leone), Ayaan (Arunoday Singh) and Kabir (Randeep Hooda) all find themselves fighting with their inner turmoil.

Izna, the porn star and Ayaan, the intelligence officer meet at a party. Ayaan and Izna get involved and share a bed and get intimate. In the mrning Ayaan introduces himself as an intelligence officer and proposes a mission to Izna, telling her that it is her chance to ‘help the country’. Izna states she’s helping the country by shedding her clothes off. However Ayaan succeeds in persuading Izna to come onboard. Izna’s mission is to help Ayyan in retrieving a data that is with Kabir, an intelligence officer who turned into a killing machine. Izna has to get Kabir into the bed and retrieve the data and thus the game begins and Izna has to decide between the two lovers in her life. It seems Izna herself doesn’t know .

Jism 2 is a strong dark movie and all the credit should goto Randeep Hooda who has off late given some very good performances. There are intimate and passionate scenes but that doesn’t make Jism 2 a porn movie. Infact Erotica and the intimate scenes have been done quite well . The films strong point is its mesmerizing soundtrack and the beautiful lyrics. Each song is exceptional and leads the story forward and tells the story of what the character is feekling. “Maula” is a beautiful and passionate track and through this song Kabir is exposed as vulnerable and a lost soul.

Sunny leone has surprised considering its her debut role in a full fledged movie. She has done well to emote in this dark movie. Arunoday Singh has done well and looks perfect in the role of Ayyan and shows the emotion of jealousy,hurt ,passion and gult all through his expressions and body language. But the most brilliant performance has been given by Randeep hooda as Kabir. He has performed with Intensity and passion .

The movie is a bit of stretch and there is nothing groundbreaking but the brilliant music, excellent performance and the cinematography makes it worth watching.
